HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth's
Rob Kerris (Elysburg, Pa.) is a repeat selection to the ESPN the Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-America District 1 men's track and field team.
A senior with a 3.76 GPA majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology, Kerris also earned the same honor in 2006. He is now under consideration for a spot on the national Academic All-America team, which will be announced later this month.
Kerris was chosen Academic All-Ivy in 2005 and 2006, and was the Heps/Ivy runner-up in the discus this spring. During last year's outdoor season, he was second in the shot, giving him second team All-Ivy recognition for both events.
This year, he qualified for the NCAA East Regional in the discus and finished 13th. He won the shot and discus at the 2007 Dartmouth Invitational and the discus at the Tufts and Northeastern Invitationals.
A four-year letterwinner, Kerris was tri-captain of the 05-06 and 06-07 track and field teams. He will receive his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth on Sunday, June 10.
