HUNTINGTON, W. Va. - With 18 holes remaining, the Dartmouth women's golf team is sixth after one day of play at the Lady Herd Fall Classic hosted by Marshall University.
The Big Green posted a 36-hole score of 686 in the eight-team field. James Madison is in the lead with 623, 18 shots ahead of Old Dominion, in the scheduled 54-hole tournament at Guyan Golf and Country Club.
Sophomore
Sunny Zhang (San Ramon, Calif.) had the best showing for the Big Green. Her rounds of 85-81-166 put her in a tie for 14th place, while junior
Lauren Strickler (Akron, Ohio) is two shots back, tied for 16th, with 85-83-168.
Also in the top 20 is freshman Katie Gulemi (Fairfield, Conn.). She shot 83-86-169 to tie for 19th among 43 golfers.
The tournament concludes Tuesday.
