BOSTON, Mass.
? The second day of the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Jan. 26 saw
the Dartmouth men's track team lay
claim to several top 10 finishers.
In the 800m, senior Mike Carmody (Berkeley
Heights, N.J.) finished 3rd
out of 96 competitors with a time of 1:49.58. Co-captains Harry Norton (North
Reading, Mass.) and Charlie Stoebe (Westport, Conn.) took 7th in the
3000m and 13th in the 500m respectively, while junior Trevor Middleton
(New Orleans, La.) took 11th in the 1000m and junior Oliver Townsend
(Signal Mountain, Tenn.) finished 14th in the mile.
The field events saw senior Derrick Vinklarek (Shiner, Texas)
take 6th place in the Pole Vault with a jump of 13'11.25”. In the Weight
Throw, junior Alex Lippai (West Mifflin, Pa.)
took 6th, while sophomore Ted Lesher (Upper
Saddle River, N.J.) finished 5th
in the Triple Jump, an event which also saw sophomore Andrew Ching (Calgary,
Alta.) take 13th. Ching also finished 15th in the Long
Jump.
The Big Green finished 15th in the 4x400m relay
with a time of 3:23.53.
Dartmouth men's
track will be back in action at home next Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Dartmouth
Classic, to start at 12:00 noon.
