Dartmouth Men Compete at Second Day of BU's Terrier Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. ? The second day of the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Jan. 26 saw the Dartmouth men's track team lay claim to several top 10 finishers.

In the 800m, senior Mike Carmody (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) finished 3^rd out of 96 competitors with a time of 1:49.58. Co-captains Harry Norton (North Reading, Mass.) and Charlie Stoebe (Westport, Conn.) took 7^th in the 3000m and 13^th in the 500m respectively, while junior Trevor Middleton (New Orleans, La.) took 11^th in the 1000m and junior Oliver Townsend (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) finished 14^th in the mile.

The field events saw senior Derrick Vinklarek (Shiner, Texas) take 6^th place in the Pole Vault with a jump of 13'11.25”. In the Weight Throw, junior Alex Lippai (West Mifflin, Pa.) took 6^th, while sophomore Ted Lesher (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) finished 5^th in the Triple Jump, an event which also saw sophomore Andrew Ching (Calgary, Alta.) take 13^th. Ching also finished 15^th in the Long Jump.

The Big Green finished 15^th in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:23.53.

Dartmouth men's track will be back in action at home next Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Dartmouth Classic, to start at 12:00 noon.
