HANOVER, N.H. ? Dartmouth men's swimming and diving took a 182-117 loss to Columbia this afternoon in its final meet of the regular season.
Dartmouth (2-11, 0-7 Ivy) now turns its attention to preparing for the Ivy Championships which will be contested on March 5-7 at Princeton.
Freshman
Michael Ahern (Old Westbury, N.Y.) stole the show on Senior Day, winning the 100 yard backstroke in 51.98 and the 200 yard backstroke in 1:53.71. Junior
Scott Sorensen (Walnut Creek, Calif.) brought home Dartmouth's first win of the day in the pool, taking the 200 freestyle in 1:45.32. He also added a third place finish in the 100 freestyle n 49.28.
Marco Chu (Newton, Mass.) won the 200 individual medley in 1:58.31.
John Hill (Erie, Pa.) and senior
Chris Koppel (Wilmington, Del.) each nabbed a third-place finish in the 500 freestyle and 100 butterfly, respectively. Senior captain
Andrew Ballentine (Pendleton, Ind.) was just .03 off the pace in the 100 breaststroke for a second place finish in 58.89.
In the relays, the 200 freestyle team of Chu, Hill, Ahern and Sorensen finished second in 1:28.09. Dartmouth took third in the 200 medley relay with the team of Ahern, Ballentine, Koppel and Hill finishing in 1:38.09.
Michael Brown (Newton, Mass.) won the three-meter diving with a score of 278.25 while
Chris Plante (Valrico, Fla.) took the one-meter event with 278.70 points.
