ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. ? Dartmouth ended their season Sunday with a last-place finish in the 2009 Ivy League Women's Golf Championship. The Big Green finished with a score of 1029 (352-340-337) in the three-day tournament.
Senior
Tory Sheppard (Fishers, Ind.) cut nine shots off of her second-round score to lead the team with a score of 254 (87-88-79). Classmate
Lauren Strickler (Akron, Ohio) finished one stroke behind her teammate with a score of 255 (83-81-91).
Freshman
Marietta Smith recorded a three-day score of 259 (89-83-87) in her first Ivy championship.
Katharine Gulemi (Fairfield, Conn.) finished the tournament two shot behind Smith, shooting 261 (93-88-80).
Kathleen Quirk (Kansas City, Mo.) was the fifth member of the Dartmouth team to compete, ending the tournament with a score of 280 (93-92-95).
Harvard claimed the team championship for the second consecutive year. The Crimson (306-295-303 ? 904) won by two strokes ahead of Yale.
Susannah Aboff of Princeton also repeated as Ivy champion. She led the tournament all three days, finishing with a score of 219 (72-75-72), five strokes ahead of Harriet Owers-Bradley of Yale.
