ITHACA, N.Y. ? Dartmouth was swept in five races against Cornell Saturday, including the Baggeley Cup.
Cornell defeated the Big Green in the Varsity Eight race by eight seconds, 5:59.3 to 6:07.6, to claim the Baggeley Cup.
The Freshman Eight was the closest race of the day as Dartmouth pushed Cornell all the way to the finish. The Big Red edged the Green by just over four seconds, winning in a time of 6:02.2 to Dartmouth's 6:06.8.
Cornell had two boats ahead of Dartmouth in the Varsity Four race. The Big Red had first- and second-place finishes in the race in times of 6:57.1 and 7:08.4, respectively. Dartmouth crossed the finish in 7:16.
The Big Red won the Second Varsity race by nearly fourteen seconds (6:02.7 to 6:16.4) over Dartmouth to continue their dominance. Cornell concluded its sweep with a 32 second win over the Big Green in the Second Freshman race, 6:15.3 to 6:47.3
The Big Green will compete in the Eastern Sprints May 10 in Worcester, Mass.
