Boston University improved to 5-2 overall while Dartmouth dropped to 1-5.
Junior Michael Brown (Newton, Mass.) had a great day on the diving boards, winning the three-meter with a score of 328.50, qualifying him for NCAA Zones. He also took second in the one-meter, just five points shy of first with a score of 279.68. Teammate Chris Plante (Valrico, Fla.) finished third in both events.
Freshman One June Chang (Great Neck, N.Y.) continued his impressive season with a thrilling win in the 100 freestyle in 47.26, winning by just .01 seconds. Chang also swam a season best in the 200 free, finishing a close second in 1:43.90.
Dartmouth enjoyed several one-two finishes on the day as well. Albert Roth (Aurora, Ill.) and Jonathan Panzl (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) took first and second in the 200 butterfly with Roth in 1:54.38 and Panzl in 1:58.37. It was a similar outcome in the 200 backstroke, which Michael Ahern (Old Westbury, N.Y.) won in 1:55.63, with Jack Driessen (Ridgefield, Conn.) second in 1:58.46.
Roth, a freshman, picked up his second win of the day in the 200 IM in 1:54.82.
Panzl took second place in the 1000 freestyle in 10:10.24 while Zak Doherty (Pelham, N.Y.) was second in the sprint, finishing the 50 freestyle in 22.00. Marco Chu (Newton, Mass.) took second in the 500 freestyle in 4:49.90 and Driessen was the top Green swimmer in the 200 breaststroke, finishing third in 2:15.69.
Dartmouth took second in both the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays. The team of Ahern, Reasons (Naperville, Ill.), Derdeyn (St. Louis, Mo.) and Doherty finished the medley relay in 1:35.90 and the team of Ahern, Jay Margherio (New Canaan, Conn.) Derdeyn and Chang swam to second in the freestyle in 3:13.34.
The Big Green hits the road to Philadelphia to face Yale and host Penn next Saturday, Jan. 16.
