vs Dartmouth Invite #1

2/13/2010 8:00:00 PM | Men's Tennis
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - On the second day of the ECAC Championships at Yale, the Dartmouth men's tennis team dropped its first match of the tournament to Columbia by the score of 6-1 on Saturday.
The Big Green got off to a slow start in doubles as junior Stephen Greif (San Antonio, Texas) and junior captain Curtis Roby (New York, N.Y.) won the only doubles match for Dartmouth with an 8-6 win.
Down 1-0 after doubles, five of the six Big Green players got the first break, but Greif was the only player to hold out to win the first set. Senior Dan Freeman (Chatsworth, Calif.) and Roby lost theirs in a tie breakers.
Although a valiant effort by all only Stephen was able to bring home a team point as Dartmouth dropped the match to the defending Ivy League Champion.
Tomorrow night the Big Green will take on the loser of Cornell and St. John's at 7 p.m. in New Haven.
