CAPE COD, Mass. — Junior captain Katie Gulemi (Fairfield, Conn.) posted an 11-over 82 in the first round of play at the Dartmouth Spring Invitational at Cape Cod as the Big Green finished the day in third place out of the five participating teams. Dartmouth as a team shot a 342 while Harvard ended the day with a 12-stroke lead ahead of Siena with a 17-over 301.

Supporting Gulemi was freshman Colleen Carroll (Bettendorf, Iowa) with an 86, while the other three — sophomores Heather Roland (Newton Square, Pa.), Marietta Smith (Mount Prospect, Ill.) and Kathleen Quirk (Kansas City, Mo.) — each carded an 87.

Freshmen Emily Hyman (Chappaqua, N.Y.) and Julie Campbell (Bozeman, Mont.) also participated as individuals, shooting an 84 and 85, respectively.

The Harvard duo of Claire Sheldon and Christine Cho are in the lead as each tallied a three-over 74.

The second and final round will take place beginning tomorrow morning.
