Men's Tennis Gives Kinyon Win in Final Home Match

HANOVER, NH – In the final home match for Dartmouth men's tennis head coach Chuck Kinyon, the Big Green earned a 6-1 win over Brown.

In the final home match, the Big Green showed great energy and spirit as Dartmouth came out and swept the doubles from Brown. Senior Dan Freeman (Chatsworth, Calif.) and sophomore Mike Laser (Glencoe, Ill.) finished with an impressive 8-2 win at the top spot.

Junior Curtis Roby (New York, N.Y.) and junior Stephen Greif (San Antonio, Texas) finished shortly after with a solid 8-4 win and bringing Dartmouth the team point. Sophomore Chris Ho (Los Altos, Calif.) and freshman Alex deChatellus (Tiburon, Calif.) made it a sweep with their solid play in the third spot.

The Big Green was equally impressive in the singles winning five of the six first sets. Laser put the Green up 2-0 with a straight set victory over Skate Gorham at No. 2. Freeman followed with a 6-4,6-2, win at the No. 1 spot putting the Green up 3-0. At the 2 hour and 40 minute mark, freshman Xander Centenari (Towson, Md.) finished the Bears off with an impressive 6-2,6-1, win at the sixth spot. Roby and Ho put two more points on the board posting an impressive 6-1 for the Dartmouth

"I want to thank all of our loyal fans and friends who came to the match today," said Kinyon. "It was great in so many ways with the win, the friends and the terrific group of players on this team. It has been a great privilege to coach at Dartmouth for all these years, I can't think of anything I would have rather done."

Dartmouth will wrap up its season this Wednesday down in Cambridge for a 3 p.m. start against Ivy rival Harvard.
