HANOVER, N.H. – The No. 8 Dartmouth women's squash team was bested by No. 3 Trinity, 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Berry Racquet Center.
Valeria Wiens (Hanover, N.H.) played a tough match at No. 1 against Catalina Pelaez. Wiens won the first two games by close scores, 12-10 and 11-9 but Palaez came storming back and won the next three easily to take the match.
Kensy Balch (Edmonton, Alta.) at No. 7 also proved tough as she took Robyn Hodgson to five games. Balch won the first game, 10-12 but Hodgson came back to tie the contest with an 11-4 in the second game. Hodgson continued winning to take a 2-1 lead before Balch won game four but Hodgson was not to be denied as she took the fifth and final game to win the match.
Katherine Nimmo at (Wellesley, Mass.) No. 9 was also able to win the first game but fell in four to Robyn Williams.
The Big Green will be back in action on Sunday with two matches. The Big Green will square Franklin & Marshall at 10 a.m. before taking on Bates at 3 p.m.
