Men's Tennis
vs Dartmouth Invite #1

2/19/2011 9:06:00 PM | Men's Tennis
MANCHESTER, MASS. — After a tough loss to St Johns on Friday, Dartmouth bounced back to beat Boston College on Saturday at the Manchester Athletic Club, 5-2. The Eagles were also looking to avenge their 6-1 loss to the Big Green in Hanover three weeks earlier.
The match was extremely close with momentum swings back and forth. Dartmouth jumped out to a 1-0 lead by claiming the doubles point for the fifth time in six matches. However, the match would come down to the last two singles matches. Sophomore Xander Centenari (Towson, Md.) was down 4-1 in the third before storming back to break his big serving opponent three times in a row to win 6-4 and clinch the match for the Big Green.
Meanwhile, senior Stephen Greif (San Antonio, Texas) battled back from down a break in his third set to get himself into a tie-break, which he
pulled out 7-5. Dartmouth is back in action on Feb. 27 at St. Johns.
