Men's Tennis
vs Dartmouth Invite #1
3/21/2011 1:43:00 PM | Men's Tennis
SANTA BARBARA, CALIF. — The 71st-ranked Dartmouth men's tennis team lost at UC Santa Barbara on Monday, 4-2. The match was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday, but heavy rain forced the match to be moved to Monday. The loss ended the Big Green's five-match winning streak and dropped the team to 8-3 on the season.
Besides being delayed a day, the match was shortened due to weather with the doubles matches not being played. If the singles matches would have ended tied 3-3, only then would the doubles matches have been played. In the singles matches, only senior Curtis Roby (New York, N.Y.) in third singles and freshman Brandon DeBot (Stevens Point, Wis.) in sixth singles earned victories for Dartmouth. Junior Michael Laser (Glencoe, Ill.) almost forced the match to go to doubles, but lost in three sets at first singles.
The team will be back
in action on Wednesday against Loyola Marymount. The match is scheduled
for 1:30 but again bad weather is on the way so the time may be
adjusted.
