Men's Tennis
vs Dartmouth Invite #1

4/15/2011 9:52:00 PM | Men's Tennis
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — In an Ivy League showdown that came down to the last match, the Dartmouth men's tennis team prevailed 4-3 over Brown on Saturday in Providence. The win improved the Big Green to 12-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
Dartmouth grabbed the doubles point with dominant performances at first and second doubles. However, the Bears would fight back and gain a 3-1 advantage by winning at first, second and fourth singles.
The Dartmouth comeback started with
senior Curtis Roby (New York, N.Y.) wearing out his opponent who would be forced to retire due
to cramps at third singles. With only four indoor courts at Brown, both
junior Chris Ho (Los Altos, Calif.) and senior Stephen Greif (San Antonio, Texas) took the court knowing they would need to
win their matches to give the Big Green a victory. They both performed with
great poise under pressure, and earned straight set victories to seal
the 4-3 win for Dartmouth.
The
team is back in action on Sunday at home against Yale at 1pm.
