HANOVER, N.H. - Last weekend saw both men's and women's indoor track & field teams at the Terrier Invitational at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center. This weekend will see the Big Green return to Leverone Field House for their fourth home meet of the season.
But before the Dartmouth Indoor Classic gets underway on Saturday, several members of the team will head to New York City to take part in the Collegiate Invitational.
At BU, sophomore
Abbey D'Agostino (Topsfield, Mass.) and senior
Alexi Pappas (Alameda, Calif.) broke Dartmouth program records in the mile and the 3,000 meters. D'Agostino broke her own record set just the week before in the mile, while Pappas' 9:14.75 broke a mark in the 3,000 that stood for 14 years that was set by Maribel Sanchez '96.
The men were led in Boston by freshman
Sam Yoder (North Attleboro, Mass.) in the high jump.
Strong showings from senior
Ethan Shaw (Falmouth, Maine) in the 3,000 meters,
Luke Decker (Mission Viejo, Calif.) in the 1,000 meters and sophomore
John Bleday (Westwood, Mass.) in the mile also were highlights of the non-scoring meet for the men's team.
Both Big Green squads took the top spot in the first three meets of the season, all at home. The 43rd annual Dartmouth Relays during the first weekend of the January was followed up by a quad meet with RPI, Vermont and Maine and then a meet with Yale and Columbia on Jan. 21.
Saturday's meet is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. with several field events before a noon start on the track.
