Dartmouth volleyball returns to Leede Arena this weekend for back-to-match Ivy League contests, hosting Brown at 7 p.m. on Friday and Yale at 5 p.m. the following evening. The match on Saturday against the Bulldogs will be the fourth consecutive event that the Big Green have played at home. After that, they will be on the road for a pair of matches before returning to Hanover in mid-October.
Last Weekend in Leede Arena – The Big Green opened Ivy League play last Saturday against Harvard, facing the Crimson for the 60th time in program history. Following back-and-forth action and countless ties, the Big Green took the first two sets (27-25, 25-19) before the Crimson found their bearings and claimed the third, 26-24, to up the intensity. Another aggressive set ended with a 25-21 victory for the home team, giving it the 3-1 victory and snapping Harvard's five-match winning streak
So Far in the Ivy League … - With conference matches now underway for the Ancient Eight teams, Dartmouth remains atop the standings with an .833 winning percentage. The Green and White are also first in blocks (96), while currently second in assists (518), kills (544) and digs (647). To round out the statistics, they are third in aces (55) and fourth in hitting percentage (.194).
Scouting the Bears - Brown opened its season with four straight losses on the road before defeating Providence at home on Sept. 10. The Bears kicked off the Ivy League season last Friday with a 3-0 loss to. Prior to its loss to the Bulldogs, Brown had a 3-1 victory over Rhode Island.
Scouting the Bulldogs – Yale is coming off two recent wins, defeating Georgetown (3-1) before a 3-0 win over Brown. The night before their match against Dartmouth, the Bulldogs will be in Cambridge for a 7 p.m. match against Harvard.
Next up for Dartmouth – The Big Green will travel to New York next weekend, facing Columbia at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, before playing a 5 p.m. match the following day against Cornell.
