THIS WEEKEND
During the next part of its five-state road trip, the Dartmouth volleyball team will take on Yale on Halloween before popping over to Providence for a match against Brown the following evening.
LAST TIME OUT
At its only contest of the week at Harvard, the Big Green dropped all three sets, 25-13, 25-20, 25-18. Emily Astarita led the team with 10 kills and five digs and Stacey Benton dished out 20 assists. Danielle Glinka, Alex Schoenberger and Paige Caridi each had an ace, while Caridi led with 10 digs. A month ago, Dartmouth opened Ivy play with a 3-1 victory over the Crimson at home.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Since its one loss to Harvard back on Oct. 3, Yale has gone on a six-match winning streak, shutting down each team in three sets except for Columbia on Oct. 18, which was able to win one set of its own before the Bulldogs ended the match.
BRIEFING ON THE BEARS
Brown had a successful weekend at home on Oct. 17-18, defeating Columbia and Cornell by a score of 3-2 on both days. That small streak was cut short when the Bears suffered a 3-0 loss to Yale the following Friday, Oct. 24. Brown will host Harvard at 7 p.m. before welcoming the Green to campus the following evening.
IVY LEAGUE STANDINGS
The leaderboard looks much the same as it did last week. Yale and Harvard still sit in the first two spots with records of 7-1 and 6-2, respectively. Princeton, which has been moving around a good deal for the past few weeks, has climbed up to third at 5-3, while the Green are fourth with a 4-4 record. Columbia, Brown and Penn are tied for fifth with a 3-5 mark and Cornell rounds out the list with a record of 1-7.
IN THE RANKINGS
As they have done for the past few weeks, Caridi and Astarita remain fourth and fifth in kills with 219 and 217, respectively. Julia Lau is seventh with 260 digs, while Caridi is making her way up the list, currently sitting in 10th with 207. Lottie MacAulay is tied for third with 1.00 blocks per set and Benton is sixth with 5.98 assists per set.
NEXT UP FOR THE BIG GREEN
During its final weekend of road matches, Dartmouth will travel to Philadelphia for a 7 p.m. match against Penn on Friday, Nov. 7, before heading down to New Jersey to face Princeton at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
