THIS WEEKEND
The Big Green will host its final two matches of the 2014 season. On Friday at 7 p.m., they will welcome Cornell to Hanover, while on Senior Night on Saturday, Dartmouth will take on Columbia at 5 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The team from the Upper Valley wrapped up its third consecutive weekend of travel on Saturday, falling to both Penn and Princeton by scores of 3-0.
SCOUTING THE BIG RED
Cornell most recently dropped home matches to Princeton (3-0), Brown (3-1) and Yale (3-0). The Big Red's last victory was on Halloween, when they swept Penn on home court. Cornell has not played a road match since Oct. 18, when it fell to Brown (3-2). The night after arriving in Hanover, the Big Red will head to Cambridge to end the regular season against Harvard.
LAST TIME vs. CORNELL
On Oct. 11, the Big Green defeated the Big Red in straight sets by scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-20. Dartmouth was led by Paige Caridi with 10 kills, and was the only player for either team to reach double-digits. Emily Astarita and Alex Schoenberger tallied nine and eight kills, respectively, as the Big Green trio connected on .274 of their attempts (27-7-73). Stacey Benton registered 22 assists, while Emily Patrick had a team-high 14 digs.
LOWDOWN ON THE LIONS
Columbia is on an eight-match losing streak, its last win occurring against Dartmouth a month ago. The Lions most recently hosted four in a row, dropping contests to Brown, Yale, Penn and Princeton all by scores of 3-1. The night before Columbia ends its season in Leede Arena, it will face Harvard.
LAST TIME vs. COLUMBIA
The day before its 3-0 victory over Cornell, Dartmouth fell to Columbia in four sets, winning the first, 25-18, before dropping the remaining three, 26-28, 18-25, 21-25. Caridi led the way with18 kills, while Benton had 39 assists and four digs. Julia Lau led with 20 digs and Astarita had four of the team's seven aces.
IVY LEAGUE STANDINGS
Harvard and Yale remain atop the standings with identical 10-2 conference marks. Princeton is third with a record of 8-4, Brown and Penn are fourth and fifth with marks of 6-6 and 5-7, respectively, and Dartmouth is sixth with its 4-8 record. Columbia and Cornell sit in seventh and eighth with marks of 3-9 and 2-1.
BIG GREEN SENIORS (Stats Prior to Friday night)
Playing for the last time at Leede Arena are seniors Holly Harper, Maura Manley, Lucia Pohlman and Alex Schoenberger.
Schoenberger played in 63 sets and started six throughout 2014, recording 53 kills, 36 digs and 22 digs. She is tied for first on the team with 18 service aces. She had a season-high 11 kills on Nov. 7 against Penn.
Pohlman saw action in 61 sets, recording 44 kills, seven assists, two service aces, 15 digs and 14 blocks.
Manley played in six sets during the season, registering a dig in the first match of the season against Saint Francis (Pa.).
Although she did not see any action in 2014, Harper had a breakout junior season, appearing in 74 sets and ranking second with 230 digs. She led the Big Green and ranked ninth in the Ivy League with 3.11 digs per set. Harper also added 26 assists and a quartet of service aces.
