NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Dartmouth women's track & field freshman Allison Frantz made quite the debut Friday at the Elm City Challenge hosted by Southern Connecticut.
Frantz took the top spot in the pentathlon, finishing the five events with 3,659 total points. The freshman was one of four members of the Big Green to make up the nine-woman field that also included sophomores Miranda Lawson (3rd, 3,200), Abby Feeney (5th, 3,111) and Mary Sieredzinski (6th, 2,904).
Frantz (8.40) and Feeney (8.58) went 1-2 in the 55m hurdles to start the day. Frantz also picked up individual wins in the 800m (2:25.75) as well as the high jump (5-8.0/1.73m) to all-but seal the crown.
Sieredzinski continued the trend of Dartmouth victories by taking the top spot in the shot put with a toss of 33-3.25/10.14m. Lawson put together a solid all-around day, finishing in the top-three in three of the five events, including a second-place finish in the 800m (2:25.99), just back of Frantz.
The non-scoring meet was held at the James W. Moore Field House.
