HANOVER, N.H. – The women's team continues to dominate the Dartmouth Relays, winning its fifth straight title Sunday afternoon inside Leverone Field House.
The 46th Annual Dartmouth Relays signify the start of the main portion of the indoor season and the Big Green used it to display the talent the 2014-15 team has as they finished with 122 points. That score bested the likes of teams from Southern Connecticut (79), UMass Lowell (47), Harvard (29) and several others.
Dartmouth benefited from five individual event wins as well as the title in the 4x400m relay.
Bridget O'Neill (mile, 5:06.95), Marissa Evans (400m, 57.90), Helen Schlachtenhaufen (3000, 10:16.67), Elizabeth Markowitz (800m, 2:18.03) and Kaitlin Whitehorn (high jump, 5-8.50/1.74m) were the five individual winners on the day, while the 4x400 claimed their win thanks to a 3:50.95 in the first section of the day.
In addition to Schlachtenhaufen, the 3000m also saw Leigh Moffet (2nd, 10:19.27) and Kennedy Jensen (3rd, 10:19.61) pick up points with strong showings. Likewise, the 800 had Abby Livingston take second behind Markowitz with a 2:19.03.
Though no one from Dartmouth took the win, the 60m final saw Whitehorn (3rd, 7.69), Anna Kikut (5th, 8.04) and Sara Kikut (6th, 8.04) all earn points toward the Big Green's final total.
Molly Shapiro was third in the triple jump with a 37-11.25/11.56m, picking up six points.
Sunday marked the final day of competition at the Dartmouth Relays which got underway Friday night and continued through to Saturday with the high school meet.
