RICHMOND, VA. – The #34 Dartmouth men's tennis team fell, 4-2, to #36 Virginia Commonwealth on Thursday afternoon to begin the outdoor season.
Brandon DeBot and Diego Pedraza won single flights for the Big Green at #3 and #6. DeBot's win over Michal Voscek was 6-2, 6-4. Pedraza defeated Vuk Velickovic 6-2, 6-2.
Dartmouth dropped the doubles point, but won the third match as George Wall and Brendan Tannenbaum won 7-4.
In the top singles match Dovydas Sakinis was tied 4-all in the third set against Alexis Huegas who is ranked #78 in the national singles ranking, but the match was stopped after VCU clinched the win.
Dartmouth will meet Old Dominion on Friday at 11 a.m.
