Last weekend's showing at Seton Hall wrapped up Dartmouth volleyball's final stint of road tournaments, and the Big Green will host their first home event of the 2014 campaign on Tuesday evening when they welcome Bryant to town for a 7 p.m. match. This will be Dartmouth's final non-conference contest, as it will face each Ivy League rival twice before the close of the season in November.
This Past Weekend – At the Seton Hall Classic over the weekend, the Big Green ended up with a record of 2-1 after victories over Middle Tennessee (3-2) and Fordham (3-0) with a loss to host Seton Hall (0-3) sandwiched between them. This was the first time in program history that Dartmouth had played MTSU.
Awards – At the close of the tournament Paige Caridi and Emily Astarita were named to the all-tournament team. Caridi amassed 33 kills, one ace, eight blocks and 27 digs, while Astarita had 32 kills, 22 digs and two assists. Both players were also named all-tournament at the Greyhound Challenge at the start of the season.
Scouting the Bulldogs – Bryant is playing its eighth consecutive road match and is currently coming off an eight-match losing streak. The Bulldogs opened their season at the end of August with a win over UMass Lowell at home, but dropped the remaining three matches that weekend.
Next up for Dartmouth – After opening its home slate, Dartmouth will host three more matches before hitting the road for two. On Saturday, Sept. 27, Ivy League foe Harvard will make the trip to Hanover for a 4 p.m. match. The following week, Brown and Yale will be on campus for contests on Oct. 3-4.
