PISCATAWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The Dartmouth women's golf team matched three other schools for the second-lowest score in the third and final round of the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday, maintaining its standing in fifth-place among the 11 schools. Freshman
Julia Calbi fired a two-over 74, also the second-lowest score among individuals on the day, to help the Big Green score a 317 (+29) for the round and finish with a three-round total of 941 (+77).
Delaware's Andrea Slane held off Brown's Christine Kim for medalist honors, carding a 75-74-73—222 (+6) to win by two strokes. Calbi finished the tournament four strokes off the pace with a 79-73-74—226 (+10) while dropping a tournament-best eight birdies (three in the final round) to tie for third with Xavier's Shane Crutchfield.
Like much of the competition, the rest of the Dartmouth golfers had a difficult time scoring at the Rutgers University Golf Course. Sophomore
Isabelle Kane had the Big Green's second-lowest score of the day with an eight-over 80 to finish in a tie for 12th with a 234 (+18). Joining Kane in the top 20 was junior
Jamie Susanin at 20-over par following an 82 (+10) today, tying for 16th.
Freshman
Catharine Roddy had her best round of the tournament with an 81 (+9), tying with classmate
Hana Bradshaw for 45th with a 250. Sophomore
Jessica Kittelberger also competed for Dartmouth as an individual, carding an 80 (+8) to move up into a tie for 39th with a 246.
Dartmouth completed its fall schedule and will golf again in the spring.
