HANOVER, N.H. – The Big Green men's track & field team played host to its third and final home meet of the season Saturday afternoon with the Dartmouth Classic at Leverone Field House.
Student-athletes from the home team claimed seven individual events on this day as part of the non-scoring meet.
The Big Green were especially strong in the 60m hurdles where Ben Colello (8.34), Alex Frye (8.40) and Daniel Katz (8.59) took the top three spots in the final after qualifying through the prelims.
Colello continued his dominating day with a win in the 200m by crossing in 22.66, just ahead of teammate Lloyd May who posted a 22.88.
The 60m also saw a Dartmouth sprinter take the event win as Brett Buskey ran a 6.97 in the final. Guy Green was third in 7.14 and Thomas Reiley fifth in 7.17.
The 400m saw freshman Amos Cariati claim the win with a 49.92 to his credit, while classmate Zachary Plante was third in 50.93. In the 800, fellow freshman Josh Kerber was another winner, crossing in 1:58.31, while John McAndrews was second in the mile with a 4:26.34.
Sophomore Max Cosculluela bested the field in the pole vault as the only competitor to clear 15-0.00/4.57m. Nico Robinson was fourth in the same event by getting over the bar at 14-6.00/4.42m.
Corey Muggler won the triple jump (46-6.25/14.18m) and was second in the long jump (21-11.75/6.70m), while Dom Filiano led the throwers with a third-place showing in the shot put (52-8.25/16.06m) and a fourth-place finish in the weight throw (56-11.25/17.35m).
