MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Dartmouth's Allison Frantz won the heptathlon at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in the first meet of the outdoor season on Friday.
Frantz posted 3,373 points over the two-day competition, while teammate Mary Sieredzinski was second with 3,193 points, just 180 back of the Big Green's top performer.
Additionally, the Big Green saw Abby Feeney (2,989) place fifth and Miranda Lawson (2,949) seventh in a field that featured 22 total competitors.
On Friday, Frantz won the 800m (2:26.75) and was third in the long jump (16-9.75/5.12m) as well as 10th in the javelin (77-7.0/23.64m). In all, she won four events over the course of the two days.
Sieredzinski was fifth in the long jump (16-3.75/4.97m), fourth in the javelin (103-6.0/31.55m) and seventh in the 800m (2:36.59). Lawson was second in the 800m (2:26.75), while Feeney was eighth (2:37.55).
