FORT WORTH, Texas – On its first day in Texas, the No. 46 Dartmouth men's tennis team fell to No. 18 Texas Christian University, 5-2, at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on Saturday. The Big Green dipped 8-4, while the Horned Frogs improved to 12-5.
TCU picked up the doubles point with a 6-4 victory at the No. 2 position and a 6-3 win at No. 3. The No. 27-ranked duo of junior Dovydas Sakinis and senior Chris Kipouras was leading Nick Chappell and Will Stein, 4-3, when their match went unfinished.
Kipouras tied the score at one with a 6-1, 6-1 defeat of No. 31 Cameron Norrie at the No. 2 singles, but the Horned Frogs put the match out of reach with victories at the No. 4, 5 and 1 positions. At the No. 6 position, sophomore Max Schmidt defeated Trevor Johnson, winning the first set, 6-4, and trailing, 1-0, in the second before Johnson retired.
The Big Green will face Oklahoma State at 12 p.m. (ET) on Sunday.
