FAIRFAX, Va. – The Dartmouth women's track & field team competed at the George Mason Spring Invitational Saturday in a non-scoring meet.
The highlight of the day for the Big Green were wins in both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays and three members of the team claiming the top spots in the 5000m.
Alison Lanois took home the event win in the 5000 as she ran a 16:45.22. Not far back were Sarah B. DeLozier (16:49.64) and Sarah Bennett (16:52.68) in second and third, respectively.
The 4x400 group of Marissa Evans, Katy Sprout, Erica Hendershot and Jennifer Meech combined to run a 3:46.70, while the 4x100 quartet of Kaitlin Whitehorn, Meech, Evans and Kikut combined to post a 46.33.
Whitehorn also perfprmed well in the high jump, claiming the top spot by clearing 5-8.0/1.73m on her first attempt at the height.
Meech also took second in the 400m as she ran a 55.85 and fourth in the 200m with a 24.28 to her credit, while Whitehorn was seventh in the finals of the 100m in 11.94.
In the 400m hurdles, Evans (1:01.74) and Sprout (1:01.94) were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Stephanie Brown and Marina Plesons tied with four other competitors in the pole as all six posted a 10-11.75/3.35m to their credit, while Molly Shapiro was fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 39-5.75/12.03m on her fifth of six attempts.
