LOWELL, Mass. – The Dartmouth women's track & field team were dominant from start to finish Saturday afternoon at UMass Lowell's George Davis Invitational.
Unfortunately for the Big Green, the meet was non-scoring and they can't claim a team victory from the outstanding collective showing, although a moral win is certainly reasonable.
In all, eight individual events and one relay went the way of Dartmouth.
The 800m saw the Green go one-two-three as Meghan Grela (2:13.72), Bridget Flynn (2:14.84) and Abby Markowitz (2:16.83) claimed the top trio of spots.
The same was also true of the long jump and the 400m hurdles. The former saw Lauren Ready (17-10.75/5.45m), Mary Sieredzinski (17-10.75/5.45m) and Aliyah Gallup (17-4.25/5.29m) earn the top-three podium spots, while the former featured Marissa Evans (1:01.40), Erica Hendershot (1:01.64) and Katy Sprout (1:01.88) do the same.
The pole vault did one better as the Big Green's Stephanie Brown (11-11.75/3.65m), Kaitlin McCallum (11-5.75/3.50m), Marina Plesons (10-11.75/3.35m) and Lyndsi Ross-Trevor (10-11.75/3.35m) were the event's top-four finishers.
The 4x400m relay quartet of Maria Jarostchuk, Jennifer Cunningham, Abby Markowitz and Bridget Flynn ran a 4:08.79 to take the top spot. Jennifer Meech won the individual 400m race, running a 55.43 and besting the second-place runner by nearly five seconds.
Moriah Morton (138-9.0/42.30m) and Bridget Douglas (136-6.0/41.62m) took the top-two spots in the javelin.
Other event wins went to Bridget O'Neill (4:39.81) in the 1500m, Erin McConnell (10:13.66) in the 3000m, Miranda Lawson (5-1.0/1.55m) in the high jump and Jazz Van Loon (34-9.0/10.59m) in the triple jump.
