HANOVER, N.H. – The No. 47 Dartmouth men's tennis team won its fourth straight match on Sunday afternoon with a 5-2 victory over Yale at the Boss Tennis Center outdoor courts.
The Big Green improved to 13-10 overall and 4-2 in Ivy League play, while the Bulldogs fell to 11-11 and 1-5 in conference action.
Although sophomore George Wall and junior Brendan Tannenbaum had a 6-0 win over Alex Hagermoser and Tyler Lu at the No. 3 doubles, the Bulldogs picked up victories at the other two positions to get an early 1-0 advantage.
Yale's lead was short-lived, as Dartmouth won five straight singles matches to end the day with a victory. Senior Chris Kipouras defeated Stefan Doehler, 6-3, 6-0, at the No. 2 position, while Wall had a 6-2, 6-3 win over Fedor Andrienko at No. 5.
Junior Dovydas Sakinis downed Tyler Lu at the No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-4, while sophomore Diego Pedraza had a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Daniel Faierman at No. 4. At the No. 3 position, freshman Ciro Riccardi took down Ziqi Wang, 7-6, 6-4.
Dartmouth will host Harvard at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25. The Green will honor seniors Kipouras and Sam Todd at the final match of the season.
