AMHERST, Mass. – The Dartmouth women's track & field team claimed third at the UMass Invitational Saturday afternoon and finished its weekend at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
At UMass, the Big Green posted 165 points, third only to the Minutewomen (178) and New Hampshire (167).
In all, five individuals won events, while one Dartmouth relay team claimed the top spot on Saturday. Molly Shapiro (25.87) won the 200m, Aliyah Gallup (59.07) claimed first in the 400m, Meggie Donovan (2:12.27) finished ahead of the pack in the 800m, Erin McConnell (17:26.43) was the top performer in the 5000m and Marissa Evans (1:02.11) was the winner of the 400m hurdles.
The Dartmouth 4x400m team (4:00.67) also took the top spot by besting second-place UMass by more than six seconds.
Dartmouth also got several second-place finishes to help solidify its point total.
Those earning runner-up spots in their respective events were Kaitlin Whitehorn (11.83) in the 100m, Allison Frantz (26.02) in the 200m, Lauren Ready in both the 100m hurdles (14.29) and triple jump (37-6.75/11.45m), Kaitlin McCallum (11-6.50/3.52m) in the pole vault and Moriah Morton (130-4.0/39.74m) in the javelin.
At Franklin Field and the final day of the Penn Relays, Bridget O'Neill (2:11.87), Elizabeth Markowitz (2:09.88), Bridget Flynn (2:12.37) and Meghan Grela (2:13.62) helped Dartmouth to an eighth-place finish in the Championship of America section of the 4x800m.
