BOSTON – The 25th-ranked Dartmouth women's cross country team claimed eight at Boston College's Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown Friday afternoon.
The Big Green scored 181 points on the 5K course at Franklin Park in a meet widely regarded as one of the top national regular-season competitions each fall.
Senior
Dana Giordano paced the Green and White with a sixth-place finish in 17:10.9.
The Big Green's next two finishers were junior
Helen Schlachtenhaufen (17:46.2) and senior
Elizabeth Markowitz (17:46.4) in 35th and 36th, respectively.
Sophomore
Leigh Moffett was 46th in 17:53.2, while the Dartmouth scoring was capped by classmate
Kennedy Jensen in 57th with a 17:59.1 to her credit.
Reid Watson (61st, 18:02.2),
Olivia Lantz (63rd, 18:02.9) and
Bridget O'Neill (67th, 18:06.2) were just outside the scoring as the Big Green were the first team with eight runners across the line on Friday.
No. 9 Providence came away with the win, recording 42 points with No. 19 Syracuse a distant second with 127 points.
The Green are back in action on Oct. 10 when they return to Franklin Park for the New England Championships.
