HANOVER, N.H. — Sophomore Isabelle Kane carded a 73 on both days of the Dartmouth Invitational to place third and lead the Big Green to victory over the other eight teams in the field. Kane was one of three in the top 10 for Dartmouth, which shot a 304 (+16) on Sunday to finish the tournament at 22-over par, 18 strokes ahead of Hartford.
Kane entered the second and final round tied for second place, two strokes behind freshman teammate Hana Bradshaw who was the lone golfer to shoot under par on Saturday. While Kane was able to duplicate her performance on Sunday, Hartford's Brooke Nethercott produced the low round of the weekend with a three-under 69 to finish with a 143 (-1) to take home medalist honors.
Tying for fourth was another rookie in Julia Calbi, who began the day tied with Kane. After carding a four-over 76 today, Calbi dropped back to five-over par with a 149, same as Sacred Heart's Ellen Nighbor. Bradshaw was just one stroke behind Calbi in a tie for sixth at 150 (+6).
Rounding out the Big Green scorers was freshman Catherine Roddy who matched Calbi's 76 (+4) to tie for 13th with a 12-over 156.
Dartmouth's “B” team had some solid results as well with Jessica Kittelberger matching Roddy's scored with an 80-76—156 (+12) to lead the group to a seventh-place finish at 61-over par.
The Big Green, winners of their home tournament for the first time since the fall of 2011, return to action next weekend for the Princeton Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
