FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 35 Dartmouth men's tennis ended its time in the Lone Star State with a 4-0 loss to third-ranked TCU at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on Sunday. The Big Green fell to 11-6, while the Horned Frogs improved to 13-2.
TCU won at the No. 2 and 3 doubles positions by scores of 6-1 to take the first point. At No. 1, the 59th-ranked pairing of senior Dovydas Sakinis and freshman Roko Glasnovic was leading Hudson Blake and Reese Stalder, 5-3, when the match went unfinished.
The only singles matches to be completed were at the No. 4, 1 and 5 positions. Sophomore Max Fliegner was defeated by Jerry Lopez, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 4 while, at No. 5, Glasnovic dropped his first set to Trevor Johnson, 6-1, and put up a fight in the second to narrowly fall, 7-4. Sakinis fell to No. 2 Cameron Norrie, 6-2, 6-2, in the top spot.
At the time that their matches were suspended, sophomore Ciro Riccardi and freshman Eddie Grabill were leading their opponents, 4-3, in the second set after falling in the first.
Dartmouth will head to Oklahoma to take on No. 29 Tulsa on Tuesday, March 22.
