Rematch with Crimson
• Following two weeks off, Dartmouth has the opportunity to avenge its Ivy League-opening loss to Harvard (as it has done the past two years) with this game in Cambridge on Saturday afternoon.
• The Crimson defense held the Big Green to a 38.0 percent shooting performance and forced 17 turnovers in the initial matchup.
• At the other end of the court, Harvard shot a robust 53.4 percent overall, including a resounding 64.3 percent in the second stanza.
• Sophomore Evan Boudreaux recorded his third straight double-double (and Ivy-leading seventh of the season) with 15 points and 14 rebounds, both game highs. The forward leads the league on the glass (9.4 rpg) and is second with 16.0 ppg.
• Two others are also scoring in double figures on average — sophomore Guilien Smith (12.3 ppg) and junior Miles Wright (11.3). The latter tallied 12 points in the loss to Harvard.
• Freshman Brendan Barry, who had 12 points in the loss, is emerging for the Big Green. Since playing a total of 14 minutes over the first six games, the rookie is averaging 7.0 ppg with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 13-7. He is fourth on the team in scoring and has hit 11-of-23 (.478) three-pointers.
• As a team, Dartmouth ranks second in the league in free throw percentage (.746), including a season-best 92.3 percent (12-of-13) against the Crimson in the last meeting.
Series vs. Harvard
• Dartmouth has a 96-87 advantage all-time and has split the last four meetings.
• Last year the Crimson held off the Big Green in Cambridge, 77-70, before Dartmouth evened the score two weeks later with a 63-50 triumph at Leede Arena.
• At Lavietes Pavilion, the Big Green are 12-21, and their last win here was just two years ago thanks to a 26-2 second-half run in the 70-61 triumph.
• While Dartmouth dominated the first 60 years of the series with a 56-14 record through 1960, the Big Green have mustered just a 40-73 mark since then, including a 7-27 record this millennium.
Scouting the Crimson
• Since the game two weeks ago, Harvard won an exhibition game against McGill, 70-45, then held off Bryant on the road, 70-65.
• The best Crimson victory has been a 57-56 road win at Houston on Dec. 23 after a two-week break for finals.
• The top two scorers are both freshmen — Bryce Aiken (13.7 ppg) and Seth Towns (11.1) — though they combined for just six points in Hanover.
• Fifth-year senior Siyani Chambers runs the offense with his 6.2 assists per game (12th nationally) while adding 8.8 ppg.
• Corey Johnson is the top long-ball threat, hitting 31-of-73 three-pointers (.425), while Aiken (25-70, .357) and Towns (17-40, .425) are also capable.
• The Crimson are near the top of the league in free throw accuracy, despite hitting just 5-of-12 (.417) against Dartmouth on Jan. 7.
• Harvard has a pair of rim protectors in Chris Lewis (21 blocks) and Zena Edosomwan (20).
• Edosomwan also hauls in a team-best 6.3 rebounds a night despite averaging just 16.0 minutes.
• The Crimson defense is stingy, allowing opponents to shoot just 39.4 percent, lowest in the league.
• Tommy Amaker (Duke '87) is in his 10th season at Harvard's helm with a 183-100 record in Cambridge and a 359-239 mark in a career that has taken him to Seton Hall for four seasons (68-55) and Michigan for six (108-84).

Good Things Come in Threes
Each of the past two seasons, Dartmouth has lost the initial game against Harvard, only to rebound in the second to knock off the Crimson. In 2014-15, Harvard won in Hanover, 57-46, before the Big Green returned the favor in Cambridge, 70-61. Last year, the Crimson held serve on their home court, 77-70, before falling at Leede Arena, 63-50. So by The Rule of Three (I kind of made it up), the Big Green should win at Lavietes Pavilion this year. A Dartmouth win would also be its third straight on the road, something it hasn't accomplished in 20 years.
Boudreaux Boudreaux Golly
This note simply won't get old. Double the name for Evan Boudreaux double-doubles. The sophomore posted 15 points and 14 rebounds against Harvard for his Ivy League-best seventh double-double of the season and 17th of his career. His 10 last year were the most by a Dartmouth player in 23 years, and the most in a career over the last 25 years is 21 by Ian McGinnis '01.
Barrying Three-Pointers
Freshman Brendan Barry has asserted himself over the last five games, partly due to his ability to knock down the long-range shot, canning 8-of-15 (.533) over those five contests. Against Harvard, he popped a season-high three treys in just four tries as he racked up 12 points, two shy of his season high set at the start of this five-game stretch at LIU Brooklyn.
Turnover Limit
Turnovers can make or break a game, and Dartmouth is no exception to that. In the Big Green's three victories this year, they have coughed the ball up an average of 10.7 times. In the 11 losses, that number jumps to 16.0. When turning it over less than 15 times, Dartmouth is 3-3. At least 15? 0-8.
They Call Me a Jinx
If my writing about senior Mike Fleming making all 14 of his free throw attempts this year causes his streak to end, then I am much more powerful than I ever imagined. Each of the Big Green's top seven scorers are all shooting at least 73 percent at the charity stripe, and the team's 74.6 percent showing ranks second in the Ivy League.
Dickinson Getting Offensive
On the boards, that is. When senior Wesley Dickinson gets a rebound, it generally is at the offensive end of the court. Of his 29 caroms collected, 18 have given Dartmouth a second chance to score, the third most on the team. His one offensive rebound per 11 minutes is the highest rate on the team and eighth-best in the Ivy League.
Speaking of Rebounds …
By virtue of his three consecutive double-doubles, Evan Boudreaux has had at least 10 rebounds in three consecutive games. Only two players in the last 20 seasons (including this one) have hit double digits on the glass in four straight games — Alex Barnett '09 (4) and Ian McGinnis '01 (7 twice).
Also, in the last two games, Boudreaux has hauled in 28 rebounds, a total reached by just three other Big Green players in the last 20 years — McGinnis (10 times) and Gabas Maldunas '15 (once). Boudreaux had 31 over two games last year, bested only by McGinnis who had 34 back in 1998.
The 700 Club
Sophomore Evan Boudreaux recorded his 700th career point with a three-pointer late in the second half against Harvard on Jan. 7. By reaching the milestone in his 41st career game, he is the fourth-fastest Big Green player to hit the mark. Paul Erland '72 got there the quickest, needing just 32 games to do so, followed by James Brown '73 (37) and Bill Raynor '74 (40). Adam Sutton '76 also achieved the feat in 41 games to match Boudreaux, who is Dartmouth's active leading scorer with 702 points, while junior Miles Wright needs just five more points to join the group.
