Time for a New Streak
• In a streaky season, Dartmouth will attempt to build upon its most recent win with this trip to Yale and Brown on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
• The Big Green's first three victories all came consecutively, and their 15 losses have come during streaks of nine and six defeats.
• That six-game skid came to a halt last weekend with a 74-71 triumph over Penn, Dartmouth's fourth straight home victory in the series. It is the longest home winning streak against the Quakers for the Green since 1955-60 (six in a row).
• Sophomore Evan Boudreaux was named the Ivy League co-Player of the Week after posting double-doubles against both Princeton (21 pts., 12 reb.) and Penn (18, 11).
• Boudreaux leads the league in rebounding at 9.4 rpg, plus is second in scoring with 16.5 ppg.
• Junior Miles Wright led Dartmouth with 19 points in the win over the Quakers, matching a season high with five three-pointers in seven tries.
• Dartmouth dominated the boards in its victory, 37-25, and now has a positive rebound margin on the season (+0.4).
Series vs. Yale
• Dartmouth has played the Bulldogs 208 times entering this contest. Yale has the advantage with a 110-98 mark against the Big Green.
• Last year during the Bulldogs' run to the NCAA Tournament, they defeated Dartmouth both times, though the game here at Lee Amphitheater wasn't decided until overtime thanks to a Makai Mason bucket in the waning seconds of regulation.
• Taylor Johnson had 18 points in the heart-breaking loss. Evan Boudreaux averaged 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in the two meetings, and Mile Wright boasts a 14.5 scoring average in four career games against Yale.
• Dartmouth is 28-54 all-time against Yale at Lee Amphitheater. The Green also played an Ivy playoff game here in 1959, beating Princeton, 69-68.
• Yale has won 26 of the last 32 meetings.
Scouting the Bulldogs
• Yale was discounted in the preseason after star guard Makai Mason was lost for the season due to an injury, but the Bulldogs opened the season with an impressive road win at Washington and have proven resilient with a 5-1 start in Ivy play.
• Yale is the league's most accurate shooting team at 47.0 percent while holding the opposition to 41.3 percent, second lowest among Ivy teams.
• The Bulldogs feature a balanced offense with five players scoring in double figures with a sixth — freshman Jordan Bruner — nearly there at 9.8 ppg.
• Another rookie, Miye Oni, leads the team at 13.2 ppg thanks in part to 48-of-111 three-pointers (.432), plus tops the squad with 7.2 rpg.
• Anthony Dallier runs the offense, dishing out 4.5 assists a night while adding 10.4 ppg.
• Bruner and Oye also are two of the league's top-five shot blockers with a combined 61 rejections.
• Head coach James Jones (Albany '86) is the longest tenured head coach in the Ivy League, now in his 18th year with an overall record of 267-245. Last year he led the Bulldogs to 23 wins, an Ivy League title and a victory in the NCAA Tournament.
Series vs. Brown
• While the Bears have won 14 of the last 19 and 23 of 32 against Dartmouth, the Big Green still hold the advantage in the all-time series, 79-74.
• The two teams split the series last year with Dartmouth handing Brown a 17-point defeat in Hanover, 87-70, before suffering an overtime loss here in Providence, 84-83.
• Evan Boudreaux topped 20 points in both games, while Taylor Johnson tallied a career-high 22 points in the victory.
• Tavon Blackmon (22) and Steven Spieth (21) each had a 20-point game against the Big Green last year.
• At the Pizzitola Sports Center, Dartmouth has a 10-17 record, but is just 1-10 in the last 11 games with the lone win coming three years ago.
Scouting the Bears
• Since winning eight of nine just before the calendar flipped to 2017, Brown is just 2-6 with both wins featuring double-digit margins on the road at Penn and Cornell.
• The Bears lead the league in scoring at 77.3 ppg, but have allowed the exact same number of points (1,700), plus top the loop at the line (.759).
• Steven Spieth, younger brother of pro golfer Jordan Spieth, leads the Bears in scoring (16.2 ppg), rebounding (6.2 rpg) and steals (33), plus has 82 assists, one behind point guard Tavon Blackmon.
• Blackmon is the other player scoring in double figures at 10.9 ppg, though five others are between 7.9 and 9.5, including Joshua Howard, son of former NBA player Juwan Howard.
• While Spieth hits 40.0 percent of his long-range shots, it is Big Green killer J.R. Hobbie who is the specialist at 49.0 percent (48-of-98). Hobbie has taken two shots inside the arc all year.
• Brown plays aggressive defense as its league-leading 8.0 steals per game can attest.
• Mike Martin (Brown '04) is in his fifth season at the helm with a 60-78 record. He spent six years on the staff at Penn before returning to his alma mater, which he led to three second-place finishes during his four-year undergraduate career.

Ivy League Co-Player of the Week
For the first time in his career, sophomore Evan Boudreaux was chosen as the Ivy League Player of the Week on Feb. 6, sharing the honor with Princeton's Spencer Weisz. All Boudreaux did was record a pair of double-doubles, first with 21 points and 12 rebounds in a close loss to the league-leading Tigers, 69-64, then with a 18 points and 11 boards in the Big Green's first conference victory, 74-71 over Penn. He shot 55.6 percent (15-of-27) over the two contests and dished out five assists as well.
Four in a Row at Home
For the first time in 20 years, Dartmouth can boast a four-game home winning streak against another Ivy League team. The 74-71 win over Penn kept the senior class perfect against the Quakers at Leede Arena, the first four-year class to accomplish the feat. The last time Dartmouth had won at least four in a row in Hanover against Penn came from 1955-60 during a six-game string of success. The longest home winning streak against an Ivy school is 18, that coming against Harvard from 1907-41.
Clutch at the Line
In the 74-71 win over Penn on Feb. 4, the Big Green needed some clutch free throws in the final 15 seconds to seal the victory, and Guilien Smith was there to wrap it up. Twice the sophomore canned a pair of foul shots to keep the Quakers at bay as he finished the game a perfect 6-for-6 at the line. One of Dartmouth's top foul shooters this season at 77.3 percent, Smith had struggled of late, however, converting just 6-of-13 over the previous five games.
The Wright Distance
For the second time this season, junior Miles Wright sank five three-pointers in a game when he lit up Penn on Feb. 4 as he scored a game-high 19 points in the 74-71 triumph. It is probably not a coincidence that Dartmouth won both of those contests as the Green bested LIU Brooklyn back on Dec. 18 as well. The only other player to pop a quintet of treys this season is Guilien Smith in a 75-69 victory at Bryant on Dec. 22. Dartmouth's other win this season, 63-62 over New Hampshire, surprisingly featured a total of four three-pointers. And since struggling from lost distance to start the season, Wright has drained 22-of-54 (.407) from behind the arc over the last 10 games.
Sistare-ing at the Sun
What could this note possibly be about? Obviously Ian Sistare, but what about him? How about the fact that the freshman had struggled with his outside shot over the first 18 games, hitting just 1-of-21 three-pointers. That did not deter him against Penn, however, as the rookie drilled not one but two triples. So until that game, he probably had such a hard time hitting that shot because it was like staring into the sun. Give me a break; the season is getting long.
A Clean Dozen
Since we are on the topic of three-pointers, Dartmouth had a total of 12 against Penn in the win, its most in nearly three years. The last such instance came in an 87-78 win over Cornell on March 1, 2014. Since that game, the Big Green had hit double figures on threes just three times, two of which came earlier this season with 11 against Marist and LIU Brooklyn. But hitting a lot of three-pointers is no guarantee of victory. In the 69 games that Dartmouth has popped at least 10 since the 1997-98 season, the Green have gone just 34-35.
Applying the Windex
For the second time this season, Dartmouth cleaned up on the glass by grabbing at least 10 more rebounds than its opponent with 37 caroms to Penn's 25 on Feb. 4. Evan Boudreaux led all players with 11 boards while Miles Wright added seven of his own. The other game with such a great margin came at Hartford in which the Big Green had a 36-21 advantage, though that ended in a 70-66 defeat.
Fleming Fills the Hoop
Senior Mike Fleming may only have been Dartmouth's third-leading scorer in the 69-64 loss to Princeton, but his 11 points marked the first time in his career he had scored in double figures. He also set personal highs in field goals (five, previous best was two) and rebounds (five).
Four Not So Lucky This Time
For the fourth time this season, Dartmouth had four players score at least 10 points in a game with Evan Boudreaux (21), Miles Wright (13), Mike Fleming (11) and Guilien Smith (10) doing so against Princeton on Feb. 3. But that did not lead to a victory as Dartmouth lost to the Tigers, 69-64, making the Green 2-2 in such games.
Turnover Limit
Turnovers can make or break a game, and Dartmouth is no exception to that. In the Big Green's four victories this year, they have coughed the ball up an average of 11.0 times. In the 15 losses, that number jumps to 15.7. The Jan. 27 game at Columbia produced 21 turnovers — all in the first 29 minutes — equaling a season high. When Dartmouth turns over less than 15 times, it is 4-5. At least 15? 0-10.
