NEW ORLEANS, La. – No. 30 Tulane defeated the Dartmouth men's tennis team, 4-1, at the City Park Pepsi Tennis Center on Thursday. The Big Green dipped to 6-10, while the Green Wave improved to 13-3.
Tulane had a 6-2 win at the No. 1 doubles to start things off, which was followed up by a 6-1 victory by junior Max Fliegner and freshman Charlie Broom at the No. 3 spot. Play at the No. 2 position was close, and it was senior George Wall and freshman David Horneffer that walked away with a 6-4 win to give the first point to Dartmouth.
With the Big Green ahead by a point, the Green Wave went on to win four straight singles matches to clinch the win. Dartmouth fought hard, with three of the six matches going to three sets. Wall was leading his opponent in the third set, 4-3, when his match went unfinished.
On Friday, the Big Green will end their Spring Break trip by facing No. 46 South Alabama.
