OSPREY, Fla. — The Big Green traveled to Osprey, Florida this weekend to compete in the two day Harvard Invitational at the Oaks Club. The eight teams played two rounds today on the par-72 course, and the Dartmouth women's golf team currently sits in eighth place. The team dropped five strokes from the first to the second rounds to finish with a 321-316—637 (+61).
Princeton grabbed the lead with a 19-over 595 thanks to four of its five members finishing among the top seven golfers. Boston University holds second, coming in seven strokes behind the Tigers, while Harvard sits third after they carded the best round of the day with a 295 (+7) over the second 18 to turn in a 606 (+30).
On the individual leaderboard, Princeton's Amber Wang holds the top spot with a one-over 145 with Michelle Xie of Harvard just two paces behind her. Third place was shared amongst five players — Princeton's Hana Ku, Annie Kong, and Tiana Lau, Harvard's Anne Cheng, and Boston University's Phyliss Thang.
Topping the Big Green was Catharine Roddy who shaved five strokes off her first-round performance to care an 11-over 155. The sophomore ended the day in a tie for 20th after she made four birdies between on seven, nine, 15, and 17 during the second round, giving her five on the day. Only three golfers had more over the two rounds.
Two strokes behind her was freshman Kristin Soh who also dropped five strokes between the two rounds, which propelled her into a tie for 26th. Also competing for Dartmouth this weekend was junior Jessica Kittelberger who produced the most pars (22) of any Big Green player, finishing up in a tie for 32nd turning in a scorecard of 87-79—160 (+18). Her classmate Isabelle Kane also played this weekend posting a 161 (+21) overall, five strokes ahead of freshman Maddie Nelson who matched Roddy with five birdies across both rounds.
The tournament will resume tomorrow for its last day of play with a shotgun start at 8:30 tomorrow.
