LAS VEGAS – Dartmouth kept it close throughout, but ended up falling to Middle Tennessee in its first game of the Lady Rebel Round-Up, 70-58.
Cy Lippold set a career high with five triples, finishing with 15 points on 5-7 shooting from three, while
Paula Lenart had a career high 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds.
Kealy Brown finished with seven points and four rebounds for the Big Green.
Dartmouth falls to 2-1 on the season, while Middle Tennessee improves its record to 4-2.Â

Lenart got the game started with a triple off an assist from Quinones to boost the Big Green to a 3-0 lead. The Blue Raiders answered with a quick 7-2 run in the opening minutes of the first quarter, but that was put to an end by back-to-back triples by
Kealy Brown and Lippold to give Dartmouth an 11-7 advantage with 5:57 on the clock.

In the closing minutes of the first through the start of the second, Middle Tennessee took control by going on a 17-6 run to build its lead to 24-13 with 7:30 on the clock before the half. Lippold and
Katie Douglas responded with consecutive three-pointers to bring the score to a 24-19 deficit. After a quick run by the Blue Raiders, Dartmouth went on a 7-2 run of its own with back-to-back baskets from Quinones and a three ball by Lippold to bring the score to a 31-26 Blue Raiders advantage with 2:18 left in the second. The Big Green kept it close and made it just a 34-28 game at halftime.

Middle Tennessee extended its lead to 40-28 with a three, layup and a free throw coming out of the locker room. Both teams traded buckets for the better half of the quarter with Lenart extending her point total to 14 toward the end of the third. Dartmouth used a three by Lippold, layup from
Annie McKenna and a free throw by
Emily Dryden to finish the third on a 6-0 run to cut the Blue Raider lead to 52-46 at the end of the quarter.

Dartmouth kept it close in the fourth, McKenna's layup with 8:14 to go made it just a four-point deficit, making the score 52-48. Middle Tennessee closed the game on a 14-8 run, not allowing the Big Green to pick up any ground. Lippold hit her career high fifth three pointer with 1:42 remaining in the game.

Dartmouth will look for a win on Sunday in its second game of the Lady Rebel Round-Up against UC Santa Barbara at 3 p.m. ET at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas.
