Chloe Puddifant netted her second goal of the season in the 4-1 loss to Maine at the Harold Alfond Sports Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Big Green are now 2-6-1 on the season, while the Black Bears improved to 8-6-1.

Kayla Wormsbecher, who stopped five in the final 12 minutes of the third period.
After killing off two penalties early in the first period, Dartmouth returned to full strength a more aggressive team, scoring just 14 seconds after Maine's first penalty of the afternoon. Following a few back-and-forth passes between Bracken and Odnoga, Bracken fired from the blue line to give the Big Green a one-goal advantage at 6:49. The Black Bears responded six minutes later to make it a tied game.
Maine broke the tie four minutes into the second period on a breakaway. Dartmouth tried to even the score with six straight shots, half of which were saved, but could not get past goalie Carly Jackson. The Black Bears added one more to head into the third with a 3-1 lead.
The Green continued to battle in the third period, generating some good chances, but the Black Bears got in the way each time. Maine scored its fourth at 7:56 and held on for the remainder of the period.
Dartmouth and Maine will return to the ice at 2 p.m. on Sunday for game two of the series.
