Fall 2018 has begun in Hanover, N.H. Big Green athletes are embarking on a new season hoping to continue with the success they had last season. Sophomore Pat O'Brien improved on his second place finish for the men's cross country team last fall by winning the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational this year. Senior Kat Ramage led the Big Green women's rugby team to an upset of defending national champion Quinnipiac
Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Patrick O'Brien, Sophomore, Durham, N.H.
The sophomore and Granite State native won the season-opening meet at home last Saturday morning, taking first at the 2018 Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational, running a 24:44.66 on the 8K course. O'Brien was second at the same year as a freshman in 2017, but bested that finish with the individual victory in 2018. His time was nearly eight seconds faster than the second-place runner and helped Dartmouth to 16 team points and the win.

Kat Ramage, Senior, Roxbury, N.J., Women's Rugby
Kat Ramage played big parts in the wins over Notre Dame College and defending national champion Quinnipiac during the first two weeks of the season. She scored one try and had two good conversions against NDC and had five good kicks against the Bobcats for an additional 10, for a total of 19 points so far this season.
