Dartmouth Adding 12 to Men's Program from Class of 2022

HANOVER, N.H. - The Herbert '30 and Marjorie Chase Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Barry Harwick '77 has announced the incoming members of the Class of 2022 set to join the men's program.

The 12 individuals making their way to Hanover this year come from all over the United States and are a mix of sprinters, throwers, jumpers, middle distance and long distance runners.

"We are very excited about welcoming the Class of 2022 to Dartmouth track and field and cross country," Harwick said. "We feel that we added both valuable depth along with some top recruits that will have an immediate impact on the program. We are also proud that it is truly a national class with incoming student-athletes from ten different states."

Two of the distance runners, Drew Thompson and Will Eaton were particular standouts in high school. Thompson was the eighth-place finisher at the Foot Locker National Cross Championships along with several Connecticut state titles in both cross country and track. Will was the 3000m state champion in running-crazed Oregon with a PR of 8:27.90.

Andrew Palermo was one of the top weight throwers in the US last winter. His PR was an impressive 70-8.5 and was third at the New York State Championships. Leading the way for the new sprinters is Charlie Wade who ended his senior year with a big 400m PR of 48.37 and is expected to be a valuable member of the 4x400m relay squad.
