HANOVER, N.H. – The Big Green women's tennis team was back for day two of the Dartmouth Shootout on Saturday, playing two doubles and three singles matches against Harvard at the Thompson Outdoor Courts.
"We played with a great sense of purpose and energy," head coach
Bob Dallis said. "We now get to have two weeks of practice to work on the areas of our games that were exposed this week."
In doubles play, sophomore
Abigail Chiu and freshman
Jingyi Peng fought hard, but ultimately fell to their opponents by a score of 8-5. Freshmen
Nina Paripovic and
Nicole Conard faced Natasha Gonzalez and Rachel Eason, falling to the Crimson pair, 8-3.
Dartmouth went 2-1 in singles. Conard took her first set against Irene Lu, 6-3, and was narrowly trailing in the second when it was retired early. Sophomore
Jasmine Abidi had a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Gonzalez.
Next up for the Green will be Yale's Bulldog Invitational from Sept. 28-30.
