The Big Green also competed in the Women's Showcase Finals at Navy
HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth sailing team competed in two races over the weekend. The Big Green hosted the Captain Hurst Bowl at Mascoma Lake and finished sixth and traveled to Navy for the Women's Showcase Finals where they placed eighth.
Due to unpredictable winds on Saturday, teams only raced on Sunday in the Captain Hurst Bowl. The team of skippers Max Clapp, Noah Simmons and James Paul and crews Maddie Sharp, Annika Rogers and Emma Barska came in sixth place with 117 points. The Division A boat of Clapp and Sharp had the seventh best score among A boats with 29 points. The B boat of Simmons and Rogers' best finish was second over five races, they placed fifth among B boats. Finally, the Division C boat of Paul and Barska collected 53 points.
The team of skippers Audrey Giblin and Kathryn Hall and crews Paige Clarke and Aisling Sullivan placed eighth of 18 teams with 173 points in the Women's Showcase finals at Navy. The Division A boat of Giblin and Clarke placed in the top five in three races for 85 points. The B boat of Hall and Sullivan also had three top-five finishes with their best being second for 85 points.
Dartmouth is back in action next weekend (Oct. 19-20) for three scheduled races: The Coed Finals Showcase at Coast Guard, the Yale Women's Regatta in New Haven, Conn. and the Oberg Trophy at MIT.
