NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Dartmouth women's sailing team wrapped the Intercollegiate Sailing Association's (ICSA) Women's Team Race National Championship, Monday, claiming sixth overall.
The Big Green finished the two-day championship with a 9-10 overall record.
Dartmouth entered Monday's competition in seventh overall with a 5-4 record in Round 1 sailing. The Big Green concluded the first round with races against Yale, Harvard, Tufts, Charleston, and MIT, posting a 3-2 record over their final five races to clinch a spot in the top six and Round 2 with an 8-6 overall record.
In Round 2 sailing, the Big Green went 1-4, defeating Harvard for the first time of the regatta. Dartmouth's record in the second round brought their overall record to 9-10, as the Big Green claimed sixth overall.
Stanford won the ICSA Women's Team Race National Championship with a nearly perfect 21-1 record, followed by Yale, Brown, Harvard, Tufts, and then Dartmouth.
The Big Green will have just under over weeks off before kicking off their next national championship. Dartmouth will first compete in the Women's Fleet Race National Championship from Friday, May 15 through Monday, May 18 before shifting focus to the Open Fleet Race National Championship from Tuesday, May 19 through Friday, May 22. Both regattas will be hosted by the University of South Florida.
