WEST POINT, N.Y. – Dartmouth women's tennis had a good first day at the ITA Northeast Regional Championship, going 6-2 on Breast Cancer Awareness Day Friday.

Ashley Hess and sophomore
Nicole Conard paired up and went undefeated, first downing a pair from Rutgers, 8-0, before winning against their opponents from St. John's by a score of 8-4. Junior
Racquel Lyn and freshman
Chidimma Okpara split, defeating a duo from Bryant, 8-3, but falling to a team from Army, 8-6.
In singles, Hess had a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Harvard's Rachel Lim, while Lyn defeated Sarah Hickey of Bryant, 6-4, 6-3. Freshman
Jennifer Gadalov won a close first set against Vitalina Golod of Sacred Heart, 7-6(7), and was able to hold on to win the second by a score of 6-3.
The Big Green will be back for day two of regionals on Saturday.
