PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Dartmouth field hockey team dropped a 3-1 Ivy League contest at Brown's Goldberger Field Saturday afternoon.
Junior
Tatum Schultz scored her second of the season and in as many games for the Big Green (3-6, 0-2), while Dani van Rootselaar notched a pair of goals in the win for the Bears (3-6, 1-1).
"Brown came out hungry today, and earned that win," head coach
Amy Fowler said. "We had some positive take aways, but it's a reality check that we have to come out and execute. On top of that, we must create more threatening challenges on attack and we absolutely need to finish.
"We will need to regroup and get ready for a very solid Providence team tomorrow," Fowler added.
A 0-0 game at the half, Brown scored the lone tally of the third quarter off the stick of Gina Openshaw to take the one-goal lead. van Rootselaar's first of the day came two minutes into the fourth and followed with the second just three minutes and 19 seconds later to seal the win.
Between those two fourth-quarter scores for the home was Schultz's goal, a deflection of a
Katie Spanos shot on a corner play, redirecting the ball into the top of the net.
Sophomore
Isabella Santucci made four saves in the game, while Brown goalkeeper Calista Manuzza made three.
Dartmouth stays in Providence to play the Friars at 1 p.m. on Sunday across town.
