HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's basketball team fought hard, but ended up falling short to Princeton, 82-75, Saturday night at Leede Arena. The Big Green (10-11, 3-5 Ivy) outscored the Tigers (13-9, 5-2 Ivy) 20-6 in the first quarter, but Princeton's Bella Alarie put together a 23-point second quarter to get Princeton right back into the game. Â
It was a balanced scoring attack for the Big Green,Â
Isalys Quinones led the team with 22 points, 15 of them coming in the fourth quarter, six rebounds and two steals.Â
Kealy Brown finished with 14 points, four assists and three rebounds, whileÂ

Â
"Every day brings about change and today our hearts are heavy with Cy going down," said
Belle Koclanes, the Gail Koziara Boudreaux '82 and Family Head Coach of Women's Basketball. "From that point on, our team played incredible and demonstrated Dartmouth women's basketball, our alumni and fans should be proud with the way we played, we fought and never gave up. We are going to continue playing like that every day for the rest of the season."
Â
With the score tied at four at the seven-minute mark, Dartmouth outscored Princeton 10-0 behind an energized Leede Arena crowd,
Elle Louie had six points and Lippold had four during the run. Princeton then connected on a couple of free throws, but Quinones and Brown closed the quarter with back-to-back triples to put the Big Green ahead 20-6 at the end of one.
Â
It was the Bella Alarie show in the second, the junior for the Tigers scored 23 of her teams 29 points in the quarter, pulling Princeton back into the game. Dartmouth hung onto the lead at the half thanks in large part to two 3-pointers from Douglas and baskets inside by Brown and
Paula Lenart. The Big Green led 40-35 at the break.
Â
Both sides traded 3-pointers in the early going of the third, but a 13-2 Princeton run put the Tigers ahead, 50-45, at the 6:05 mark. Douglas hit a triple to make it a two-point game and the Big Green hung around for the ensuing minutes as Brown sank a jumper to make it a one-point game. The Tigers outscored the Big Green 9-2 in the final minutes of the third to extend their advantage to 62-54.
Â
Princeton led by as many as 14 in the fourth, but Quinones scored 15 points in the quarter, including nine straight to cut the deficit to five with two minutes to go. The Tigers maintained their lead down the stretch and sank their free throws, securing the win.
