HANOVER, N.H. – No. 28 Dartmouth men's tennis had a 1-1 day at the Boss Tennis Center on Saturday, falling to Wichita State, 4-2, before defeating Boston University by a score of 6-1. The Big Green are now 7-5 overall this season.

To start the day, the Big Green fell to the Shockers.

Chris Drake said. "They outplayed us today and they have a good team. We need to do a better job with our body language throughout the match and particularly when things aren't going our way. We will learn from it."

Dartmouth took the first point following victories at the No. 2 and 3 doubles positions. Sophomores
Peter Conklin and
Casey Ross won at the No. 2 spot, 6-3, while classmates
Dan Martin and
John Speicher had a 6-4 win at the No. 3 position.

With the Green up by one, the Shockers tied it up with a win by retirement at No. 3 singles. Conklin put Dartmouth ahead once again when he defeated Eddie Stoica, 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 4 position, but three straight Wichita State victories gave the visitors the match.

Later on in the day, the Big Green rebounded from their earlier loss to take down the Terriers.

Wins at the No. 3 and 1 doubles positions put Dartmouth up heading into singles. Broom paired up with freshman
Pierce Widdecombe to win at the No. 3 spot by a score of 6-1, while Conklin and Ross had a 6-3 win at the top spot.

Wins by Broom, Speicher,
Sid Chari, Widdecombe and Conklin all in a row gave the home team a 6-0 lead. BU won its only point of the evening at the No. 4 position to end the match.

The Big Green will have a few weeks away from the court, returning in mid-March when they head to Texas for Spring Break.
