CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Dartmouth men's track & field team kicked off the first day of competition at the 2019 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championship on Saturday.
This year's meet is hosted by Harvard at Gordon Track.
HIGHLIGHTS
•   The top performer of the day was sophomore sprinter
Donovan Spearman who will move on to Sunday's final in both the 60m and 200m.
•   In the 60m, Spearman was second, crossing in 6.82, while in the 200m he was fifth in 21.99. He will look to score points and compete for those event titles Sunday in the finals of both.
•   In the 60m hurdles, the Big Green will see a pair run in the finals after posting qualifying times in Saturday's preliminaries as
Parker Johnson (8.06) and
Alec Eschholz (8.15) took third and sixth, respectively.
•   The mile final will also see a pair of Green and White harriers as
Reed Horton (4:12.27) and
Marco Pompilj (4:12.74) were seventh and ninth, respectively.
•   Another two runners in Dartmouth colors will run in a final as Nick Feffer (2:28.51) and
Thomas Lingard (2:28.53) earned the seven-eight spots, the final two to move on.
•   Moving on thanks to a third-place qualifier finish was Tim Zepf in the 800m. The sophomore ran a 1:51.37, actually the second-best time of the afternoon, but will be seeded third as the winner of the other heat earned the No. 2 spot.

Max Frye will move on in the 500m after running to seventh place with a 1:04.64.
