NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The fifth-seeded Dartmouth women's tennis team was edged by No. 4 seed Brown, 4-3, in the Big Green's first match of the 2019 ECAC Indoor Championship on Friday.
Dartmouth won the doubles point after senior
Allison Chuang and sophomore Maddie Hwang had a 6-3 victory at the No. 3 position and sophomore
Abigail Chiu and junior
Racquel Lyn defeated their opponents by a score of 6-3 at the top spot.
Freshman
Nina Paripovic made it 2-0 with her 6-4, 6-1 defeat of Julia Newman at No. 5, but Brown took a one-point lead following wins at the No. 4, 6 and 3 positions. Chiu's three-set victory at the No. 1 spot tied things up at 3-3, while a three-setter that went in the Bears' favor gave the match to Brown.
Dartmouth will be back in action on Saturday when it faces Cornell at 8 a.m.
